Tim Bourquin of TraderInterviews.com, and founder of Traders Expo has been focusing on bloggers recently in his interview series. I just recently caught up on some recent interviews and most of these have been really good. I am linking to a few below. If you missed mine, you can find it here. I will also be adding these bloggers to the blogroll if they are not already there.

  • Trader Mike: Most people who read my page are already readers of Mikes as he is one of the most popular bloggers in the internets blogosphere. If you haven't dropped by before, you owe it to yourself to visit his site.
  • Teresa Lo : Great interview by Teresa as she details why she moved away from discretionary trading to mechanical trading. You can find her site here.
  • Toni Hansen: Fellow Floridian Toni's interview was also very interesting detailing her evolution from swing trader to a combination of daytrading and position trading. You can find Toni's site here.
  • Miss Trade: Misstrade is a fellow blogger I had not heard of until I listened to the interview. He goes into great detail on how he manages his portfolio. This is a good example of a trader who is successful with a simple but solid trading system. Check out his blog here.

Have a great weekend,

Joey

Stock Chart Analysis CHE

Stock Chart Analysis CHE

Chemed Corporation (Public, NYSE:CHE)

CHE has been trading a very tight range for the better part of three months and just recently cleared it's base. It is now pulling back to test support and we should know fairly quickly if it is going to resume the breakout. Earnings are a couple of weeks away and it could get a pre earnings run.

Good Trading,

Stock Chart Analysis TK

Stock Chart Analysis TK

Teekay Corporation (Public, NYSE:TK)

TK may still have some work to do before it is ready to move out, but it looks like it is bouncing off a clearly defined support level. This looks like a good place to initiate a starter position for those that like to scale in. It will probably struggle a bit as it hits the 50 sma in the 58's but we may of seen the low in late June.

Stock Chart Analysis TZIX

Stock Chart Analysis TZIX

The TriZetto Group, Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:TZIX)

TZIX is an interesting chart I came across tonight. It has cleared the pullback trading range and has begun setting higher highs and lows. This is all occurring at an important price level on the weekly chart which could provide a very solid base for a future move higher. Todays volume was also pretty interesting. One thing that would have me worried about putting on a longer term trade here though is that earnings are coming up pretty soon (7/27). It could go on an earnings run though, and provide a decent trade.

Stock Chart Analysis VNDA

Stock Chart Analysis VNDA

Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:VNDA)

VNDA continues to work on building a base after completing a pullback from a huge gap up. While VNDA could break down from this rectangle, the fact that it still recognizing the gap as bullish support may be a valuable clue. My standard warning on this stock is that it trades all screwed up intraday, but it could make a decent position trade if it can climb over this base.

Stock Chart Analysis GRP

Stock Chart Analysis GRP

Grant Prideco, Inc. (Public, NYSE:GRP)

It seems that everyone and their mother has been buying up the oil patch recently and most of these stocks are extended. It looks like most of these are ready to pullback at least a little. Several oil stocks are sporting a pattern similar to GRP. They form a topping pattern and then make a lower pivot high. Of course, it may be too early to confirm the lower high, but it looks like most of these are going to revisit recent lows. I am looking to short the sector for only a few days at this point.

Stock Chart Analysis VSEA

Stock Chart Analysis VSEA

Varian Semiconductor (Public, NASDAQ:VSEA)

VSEA looks like it may be setting up in a small W bottom off the lower band and a the lower range of bullish gap support. Semiconductors have been under accumulation recently and VSEA may be close to closing over a trendline drawn over the recent pivot highs. While it may drift back to test support, it may also break out right here.

Stock Chart Analysis LFL

Stock Chart Analysis LFL

Lan Airlines S.A. (ADR) (Public, NYSE:LFL)

LFL seems to be moving in slow motion, as it moves away from the large triangle base. It is setting up in another triangle and could be close to breaking out. It is trading in some narrow range candles near the 20 day sma and it could serve as a launching pad for a rally. This is a tricky stock to trade because of the low volume, but it has been trading fairly steadily recently.

Stock Chart Analysis ASCA

Stock Chart Analysis ASCA

Ameristar Casinos, Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:ASCA)

Casinos are starting to look good again and ASCA just hit all time highs. I highlighted ASCA in May and boy did I miss a good entry. It looks like it is setting up for a another entry though, as this is a pretty orderly pullback to the 20 day sma after the breakout. I am watching for a nice candle pattern to emerge confirming the 20 day sma as support.

Stock Chart Analysis ACAD

Posted by downtowntrader | 7/15/2007 07:07:00 PM | 0 comments »

Stock Chart Analysis ACAD

ACADIA Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:ACAD)

ACAD had a huge breakout in late March and has been trading sideways since then for the most part. It may be early here, as ACAD could return to fill the bullish gap highlighted in green below. However, there is a chance that the gap is of the breakaway variety and that ACAD is just beginning to resume the uptrend.

Stock Chart Analysis VCLK

Stock Chart Analysis VCLK

ValueClick, Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:VCLK)

VCLK had a recent breakout that quickly reversed. While the breakout looks to have failed, it hasn't exactly fallen apart either. VCLK is still trading near all time highs and is in a decent sector. I am adding VCLK to my watchlist as it is possible that it will attempt another breakout soon. VCLK also offers a pretty clear cut stop loss area which makes trade management easier.

Stock Chart Analysis HLYS

Stock Chart Analysis HLYS

Heelys, Inc. (Public, NASDAQ:HLYS)

Funny that upon my return from vacation, and with the bullish moves from last week, I begin with three short setups. While I think the recent breakouts are valid, I am preparing for the fact that this week could be a consolidation / pullback week and will be looking at both long and short setups. HLYS was expected to be a hot IPO recently and now 7 months later it is trading almost 20% under it's first closing price. It just broke under an important price level and is attempting to break back over it. If it fails, it more then likely will revisit all time lows. That could force the hands of traders who made a bet that this was the next CROX.

Stock Chart Analysis IOC

Stock Chart Analysis IOC

InterOil Corporation (USA) (Public, AMEX:IOC)

IOC was severely punished recently and who's to say whether it was overdone or not. Either way, it had a quick bounce into resistance and it's possible that this was a dead cat bounce and that IOC is not done moving lower. What I can say with near certainty is that there are probably a good number of longs who feel trapped right now, and overhead supply will be abundant. I am watching to see how IOC deals with the 200 day sma as it bounces on decreasing volume.

Stock Chart Analysis TSO

Stock Chart Analysis TSO

Tesoro Corporation (Public, NYSE:TSO)

TSO looks like it may be double topping. It looks like a test of the support level shown in green is coming soon and if it pushes through that level there could be a quick drop. This has been a strong stock in a strong sector for months now, and this could just be a buyable dip, but RSI and OBV sure look weak.
